“Oooh, but I can make those myself,” was my first thought when I saw pom-pom (pompom, pompon, pom pom, pom pon? – help me out Wikipedia) earrings on Instagram. The only issue with making things yourself is that you actually need to make them… 😉 So, this DIY has been on my list for quite some time! During a crafting afternoon with friends – I love that we still have those – I decided to go for it and I was right: these earrings were made in no time. Do you want to make them as well? Below I share how I made them!
What you need
Pompons in your favourite colours (preferably in the right size), ear wire, needle and thread, scissors
1. Decide on the style
Lay out the pompoms to decide which combination you want to make. Are some of the pompoms too big? Cut them a little smaller until they have the right size.
2. Put it together
Now it’s time to connect the dots, haha. Start with the pompom you want to have at the top and work your way back up when you’ve reached the bottom one. Try to attach them precisely in the middle, so they’ll hang right below eachother. Before you continue, check if you like result, by letting the pompoms dangle on the thread (preferably next to your ear).
3. Attach the ear wire
Happy? Connect your creation to the ear wire and secure the thread with some knots. Done!
