An overall will instantly give your outfit a retro vibe. Comfortable and cool, but it can also be combined in a classy feminine look.
What’s in a name?
Back in the day overalls were designed for farmers and (railroad) workers. They were worn for protection and to make sure the overalls would last a long time denim was used. In the sixties boys and girls started wearing dungarees as a fashion statement. They were made in multiple colours and prints and of course you would see straps worn loose (because: rebellious) regularly. Long story short: overalls (America), dungarees (Great Britain) andsalopettes (France) became really popular!
Styling short overalls
Still, dungarees are often announced in trend reports. I especially love the short style – show those legs! Lovely when combined with a blouse, croptop or simply a casual t-shirt. Create a girly look with heels (or sandals and preppy socks à la Ellie) or go for a tougher look by wearing boots or sneakers.
Anyway; pink or red, with or without floral print and from denim to corduroy: these shortalls have found their place in beautiful outfits. Do you feel like grabbing your overalls to create your own combination already?
