Yesterday Sonja and I visited Utrecht. On our to do list: chatting a lot, shooting some outfit pictures and visiting the DRKS trend show!
From lawyer to jewellery designer
DRKS is owned by jewellery designer Miriam Derksen. In 2013 she decided to quit her job as a lawyer and finally focus her attention on what she loved best: designing jewellery. Her collection can be defined by its chic look. Think of lots of pearls, crystal, beads and elegant shapes which causes a retro feel: I like it!
Handmade in the Netherlands
Something that really speaks to me is that Miriam thinks honest production is really important. All accessories are made in the Netherlands (by hand) and besides that the materials used are deliberately chosen.
Every hour the jewellery was showed on the runway. Ideal to see how the jewellery looks ‘in real life’ and how the items can be worn!
It was so nice browsing all those lovely accessories while enjoying a drink and a cupcake! I shot a short video of the items I loved most:
My absolute favourite were the ‘royal earrings‘. I expected them to be quite heavy, but because of the use of felt they were surprisingly light. Especially the gold plated version stole my heart.
Last but not least: my favourites from the DRKS webshop.
